Raspberry Ketones vs. African Mango

Dr. Oz recently introduced two weight loss supplements to America, claiming that Raspberry Ketones is “The #1 miracle in a bottle to burn your fat” and African Mango is “A miracle in your medicine cabinet” that will help you lose weight. If both are truly miracles, how does a consumer know which one to choose? Is one of these supplements more effective than the other? Let’s look at the facts.

All Natural Ingredients

Raspberry Ketones are antioxidants found in red raspberries. Most people believe that Raspberry Ketones supplements are also created from red raspberries. This is actually not true. Extracting Raspberry Ketones from real raspberries is extremely expensive. To cut costs, supplement companies use RaspberryKetones (NEEDS A SPACE) that are created synthetically. Although marketed as all natural, Raspberry Ketones supplements are usually 100% synthetic.

On the other hand, African Mango supplements are created from all natural African Mango Seed Extract. IGOB131 is the name of the extract that is naturally derived from the seeds of African Mangos. This extract cannot be replicated synthetically. Although some African Mango supplements contain artificial ingredients, supplements that contain 100% Pure IGOB131 are completely natural.

Clinical Research

There are only two known studies conducted on the effectiveness of Raspberry Ketones for weight loss. One study was conducted on mice and the other on fat cells in a petri dish. These studies were not placebo controlled, and both studies failed to show any significant weight loss effects. There has not been a single study conducted on the effectiveness or safety of Raspberry Ketones as a weight loss aid for humans.

Studies suggest that African Mango is an effective aid for reducing weight and waist circumference. In one 10-week double blind study, 102 overweight subjects received either 150mg capsules of IGOB131 extract or placebo, twice daily before meals. At the end of 10 weeks, the IGOB13 group lost an average of 28 pounds and 6.7 inches from their waistline. They also reduced their total body fat by 18.4%.

Side Effects

Raspberry Ketones are generally synthetic supplements. Supplements containing synthetic ingredients can cause a host of unwanted side effects. People taking Raspberry Ketones have reported jitters, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, heart palpitations, feelings of anxiety and insomnia. People with hormone sensitive conditions, high cholesterol, and people taking medications are warned against taking Raspberry Ketones supplements.

African Mango supplements (containing 100% Pure IGOB131) are recognized as safe and free from dangerous side effects. Some people experience minor headaches and flatulence. These symptoms are mild and usually diminish as the body becomes adjusted to supplement.

In Conclusion

Raspberry Ketones supplements are created synthetically where as African Mango supplements are all natural. There are no human studies conducted on the weight loss effects or Raspberry Ketones while African Mango is backed by clinical research that proves its effectiveness. Finally, Raspberry Ketones causes dangerous side effects and drug interactions; African Mango does not. Based on the facts highlighted in this article, African Mango is safer and more effective than Raspberry Ketones.
